Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, de Sarthe Gallery, Hirmer Verlag, & Et Al. Gallery & Books: Kristin Bauer & Lauren R. O’Connell

Essentially, the work or the object, whether performance, sculpture, or painting, is the sum of all the parts. Where art happens is when it's beyond all of those parts. It's the dialogue between that sum of things, the viewer, and the context in which it's seen, whether there's a lunar eclipse or even celestial bodies. There's all of these dialogues and layers to it that make it art. You can make an object and do a performance, but what sort of dialogue is it invoking in many layers?  – Lauren R. O'Connell
